The most sought-after professions among Russian graduates this year were engineering, medicine and IT. This is evidenced on April 24 by the results of a survey of parents conducted by the SuperJob service.

According to RBC, 2,000 parents of 9th and 11th grade students from all federal districts participated in the study. According to the survey, 63% of high school graduates plan to enroll in universities, 11% want to continue their studies at colleges and colleges. 56% of ninth-graders are going to college, and another 29% of parents reported that their children have not yet decided.

Engineering and medicine are the leaders among the areas in higher education institutions — 15% each, IT was chosen by 12%, the professions of translator and linguist — 11%, lawyer and teacher — 6% each, PR manager and economist — 5% each.

In colleges and colleges, the IT field remains the most popular - 20% of parents said that their children would learn the profession of a programmer. 15% chose working professions in construction and manufacturing, medicine — 14%, pedagogy — 10%, law and construction — 7% each.

On April 19, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science said that Lomonosov Moscow State University, UrFU (Ural Federal University) and KFU (Kazan Federal University) have the largest number of budget places. The top universities with a large number of budget places also include Bauman Moscow State Technical University, HSE, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Siberian Federal University, Southern Federal University, Don State Technical University and MIREA.
