As explained in the department, on some Geely Emgrands there is a risk that the ventilation valve located in the fuel filler cap may not work correctly. This leads to a negative pressure (vacuum). in the system.

In such a situation, during long—term engine operation, the fuel tank may deform - the components of the fuel pump may touch the inner surface of the tank and damage it. However, this is possible only in extremely rare cases, Rosstandart pointed out.

On those recalled Emgrands where there is no damage to the tank, dealership specialists will replace the filler cap of the tank and the adsorber and apply a repair kit for the adsorber ventilation tube. If damage to the tank is detected, the mechanics will use the repair kit of the fuel tank adsorber tube. They will replace the filler cap of the tank and the adsorber, the fuel tank, the fuel pump assembly with the sensor and the rings of the sealing fuel pump. All work will be free for car owners.

Last fall, more than 17.7 thousand Geely Emgrand vehicles were found to have a defect in the gas tank ventilation valve, which could lead to deformation of the fuel tank.
