The Simonovsky Court of Moscow extended interim measures for six months in respect of previously seized property, including the assets of former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov. The arrest was also extended to the property of other defendants in the case and related persons. This was announced on April 24 by one of the participants in the trial.

"During the preliminary hearings in the second criminal case against Timur Ivanov, as well as businessman Alexander Fomin, along with a preventive measure in the form of detention, interim measures were extended until the end of the trial to the assets of all the defendants, as well as their affiliated accounts and companies," he said in an interview with TASS.

It is clarified that in the second criminal case under consideration, Ivanov is charged with accepting bribes in excess of 1.3 billion rubles, laundering funds on an especially large scale, as well as illegal possession and production of weapons.

According to the agency's interlocutor, at a closed meeting held last Friday (April 17) without the presence of the media and listeners, the defense called the extension of interim measures "unnecessary." The lawyers insisted that all assets, accounts and real estate objects that had previously been seized during the preliminary investigation had already been transferred to state revenue in Ivanov's first case and as a result of the satisfaction of the anti-corruption lawsuit by the supervisory authority.

The Simonovsky District Court added: The consideration of the second criminal case against the already convicted former official of the Ministry of Defense begins today and will take place once a week on Fridays.

Ivanov was detained on April 23, 2024 in connection with charges of accepting a bribe. According to the investigation, he entered into a criminal conspiracy with the heads of contractors who worked at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense, and concluded contracts with them in exchange for personal rewards. In July, the former deputy minister was sentenced to 13 years in prison and fined 100 million rubles.

A participant in the trial informed Izvestia on April 17 that the Moscow Court had extended Ivanov's arrest for six months. The preventive measure in the form of detention was also extended to the second person involved, the co—founder of the Olimpcitystroy company, Fomin, who is accused of paying a particularly large bribe.
