A man with a knife attacked doctors in Dagestan. What is known
In Makhachkala, a man attacked two medical workers at the Vishnevsky Hospital. Law enforcement officers and guards of the medical facility detained the attacker, and a criminal case was opened into the incident. All the details about the incident are in the Izvestia article.
Circumstances of the incident
On the evening of April 23, at the Vishnevsky Republican Clinical Hospital in Makhachkala, one of the visitors attacked the medical staff. Due to the sudden hostility, the man inflicted at least two penetrating stab wounds on the doctors. The Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Dagestan has opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted murder").
The investigation revealed that the attacker was in a medical facility with a relative who brought his wife for examination. While the couple was at the doctor's, the suspect walked aimlessly through the corridors and looked into the offices.
"At the Vishnevsky Republican Clinical Hospital, one of the visitors inflicted at least two stab wounds in the area of vital organs on the basis of a sudden hostile relationship with medical workers," the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Dagestan reported.
The condition of the victims
A surgeon and a traumatologist were injured in the attack. The surgeon underwent emergency surgery, after which he was transferred to the intensive care unit. According to the regional Ministry of Health, his condition requires intensive monitoring.
The second victim is under the supervision of specialists. The condition of the traumatologist is assessed as moderate, and currently remains stable.
Detention of a suspect
After committing the crime, the attacker tried to escape by jumping out the window. The hospital security staff caught up with the man when he had already managed to jump into the car. The guards managed to pull him out of the car and hold him until the police arrived. Magomed Kudiyasulov, the senior guard in the shift, admitted that the criminal could have been under the influence of drugs.
"[The staff] ran out, started shouting, (...) He jumped out the window. (...) Then all the guards came running after him, and he jumped into the car," Kudiyasulov said.
The Dagestan Interior Ministry confirmed that the suspect's identity had been promptly established. In a short time, the man was taken to the police department for investigative actions. As noted in the department, the man was sent for a medical examination, where he will be checked for the presence of prohibited substances or alcohol in his body.
