Actor Ivan Shibanov spoke about the filming of Pimanov's latest film
Alexey Pimanov was always on the set, talked with the actors, helped — the picture turned out to be at the highest level. Honored Artist of Russia Ivan Shibanov, who played one of the characters in it, told Izvestia on April 23 about the work on the film "The Hunt for the Emperor" by journalist and director Pimanov.
"He shot it from beginning to end with his "right hand" Ekaterina Pobedinskaya. Before filming started, he told us: "I understand that it's difficult, I understand that it's in French, that it's a historical movie, but don't be afraid, I'll be with you." Alexey did not break his word," Shibanov said.
He said that Pimanov was on set all the time to control the process and help the actors and other participants in the shooting. According to him, he was a very tactful person with an amazing sense of humor.
The actor also recalled the injury that the director received a year ago. He had a very complicated fracture of his upper limbs, but he kept joking that he would "soon be playing the piano." And even with a serious injury, Pimanov came to the shooting.
"When [he] invited me to his painting, we had a two-hour conversation with Alexey. It was an introduction. He talked about his life, the history of Russia, and the history of the Kremlin. He seemed to know every brick of the Kremlin wall, every tower. He told wonderful stories, talked about God, about icon painting, about the war, about everything," Shibanov recalled.
According to him, Pimanov was a very versatile person who possessed deep historical and political knowledge. At the same time, he had a masculine, creative charm, so two hours of dating "flew by like 10 minutes."
Alexey Pimanov died on April 23 at the age of 65. According to Channel One, the presenter's heart broke. The journalist's team called his death an irreparable loss.
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram of condolences to the journalist's family. Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, in turn, called Pimanov a true patriot and said that the presenter's contribution to journalism deserves respect.
According to Pimanov's colleague since 1998, director of photography Sergey Komarov, the TV presenter was decent, smart and efficient. According to Komarov, he did not know a better person.
