Russian Kuzminova won silver at the European Weightlifting Championships

Russian weightlifter Varvara Kuzminova won the silver medal at the European Championships in Batumi (Georgia) on April 23.

In the weight category up to 77 kg, Kuzminova successfully lifted 112 kg in the snatch and 132 kg in the clean and jerk, gaining a total of 244 kg.

The gold medal was won by Finnish weightlifter Janette Ilisoini, who showed a total weight of 247 kg (113 kg in the snatch and 134 kg in the clean and jerk). The bronze medal went to Ukrainian Irina Dombrovskaya with 243 kg (110+133).

The day before, Russian weightlifter Zarina Gusalova won silver at the European Weightlifting Championships. For Gusalova, this silver was the second in her career at the European championships.
