On April 23, Vladimir Tyulin, General Director of Izvestia News Center and REN TV channel, expressed his deep condolences over the death of journalist and director Alexei Pimanov.

"We are saddened to learn about the death of our comrade, a talented journalist, director Alexei Pimanov. Alexey was not just our colleague, he was our closest partner, with whom we created such vivid and beloved TV series as "SMERSH", "Rooks", "Operation Neman", "Evil". Alexey Pimanov died on April 23 at the age of 65. According to Channel One, the TV presenter's heart broke. The TV presenter's team called his death an irreparable loss.

Pimanov hosted the popular TV program "Man and the Law" for more than a quarter of a century. In addition, the journalist was one of the founders of the Ostankino television company, as well as the head of the Krasnaya Zvezda media holding.
