The Nio car brand may appear on the Russian market

The Chinese car brand Nio may enter the Russian market. Deliveries of the Nio ES8 and ET9 models will begin in July, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on April 23.

According to the publication, these cars must be certified in the Russian Federation, and a Vehicle Type Approval (OTT) will be issued for them by October.

The Nio brand was founded in 2014. The Nio ES8 crossover is equipped with a twin-engine system with a power of about 700 hp and is capable of accelerating from zero to "hundreds" in four seconds. The power reserve for the CLTC cycle is 635 km. In China, the model costs from 407 thousand yuan (4.5 million rubles).

The Nio ET9 electric sedan has a similar power plant. The power reserve on a single charge reaches 650 km, acceleration from a standstill in 100 km / h takes 4.1 seconds. In China, such an electric car costs from 768 thousand yuan (8.4 million rubles). Both models have rich technological and optional equipment, as well as advanced driving assistance technologies.
