- HR expert named the most vulnerable professions against the background of automation
The most vulnerable professions are office workers engaged in routine work — accountants, HR specialists and operators. This was reported to Izvestia on April 23 by Anna Alikova, an independent HR specialist and personal business assistant.
"These positions are the easiest to automate, which makes them less in demand for employers. It is easier and cheaper to transfer such functions to programs, so these categories of employees are the first to be cut," Alikova explained.
She pointed to staff reductions in government agencies and the banking sector, where budgets are being optimized. A similar situation is observed at enterprises producing products with falling demand.
According to the expert, the number of layoffs is gradually increasing, and with it the number of cases when employees are transferred to part-time employment or temporarily left without full-time work is increasing. The labor market is increasingly shifting towards employers. Job seekers have become less demanding and are more likely to agree to the terms offered, including the salary level.
At the same time, the expert identified categories of specialists who maintain stable positions. These include working professions (welders, turners, electricians), medical professionals, as well as experienced IT specialists, especially in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity. In addition, there is still a demand for logistics specialists against the background of changing supply chains.
On the same day, Rostrud announced that the number of employees planned to be reduced has been steadily increasing since the middle of last year. As of April 1, the number of employees recommended for dismissal was 105,147.
Prior to that, on April 9, Alikova mentioned signs of imminent dismissal. According to the expert, an alarming sign is a situation when a previously active employee stops participating in discussions, expressing an opinion and begins to limit himself to short answers like "ok" or "I see."
