The European Union (EU) has already begun work on the 21st package of sanctions against Russia, which will be aimed at limiting Russia's ability to sell energy resources. This was announced on April 23 by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna.

"The European Union must react decisively and take all measures to limit Russia's energy revenues, including a complete ban on the maritime transportation of Russian oil and petroleum products," the Estonian Foreign Minister was quoted as saying on the website of the republic's foreign ministry.

They added that Tsakhkna confirmed the start of work on the 21st package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, which, according to him, will be aimed at limiting Russia's income from high energy prices. He explained that the EU would not be content with half measures.

Earlier in the day, the head of the European Council, Antonio Costa, announced that the EU had approved the 20th package of sanctions against Russia. According to him, by increasing aid to Kiev and increasing pressure on Moscow, the EU has moved forward in two directions of its strategy allegedly to achieve peace in Ukraine.

Earlier in the day, Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish national Conservative Freedom Alliance party, pointed out the inability of the loan provided to Ukraine and the 20th package of sanctions against Russia to help the EU. According to him, in modern conditions, the world is experiencing destabilization due to the situation in the Middle East, in which Europe needs to buy Russian energy resources again, and not pursue "failed strategies."
