The ashes of historian Roy Medvedev were buried at the Laikovo cemetery in the Moscow region.

The ashes of historian and publicist Roy Medvedev were buried at the Laikovo Cemetery in the Moscow Region on Thursday. This was announced on April 23 by his daughter-in-law Svetlana.

"Today we buried [Medvedev's] ashes at Laikovo cemetery," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The famous historian and publicist died at the age of 101.

The death of the historian at the age of 100 became known on February 13. Medvedev is the author of more than 35 books on history, biographies of contemporaries, as well as the authorship of the novel "The Quiet Don".

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences over the death of Roy Medvedev, noting that his commitment to the principles is worthy of sincere respect.
