Khabarovsk Arboretum has been improved

Large-scale landscaping of the Arboretum of the Khabarovsk Regional Park named after Muravyov-Amursky has been completed in Khabarovsk. The work was carried out within the framework of the national project "Environmental well-being".

The object has the status of a natural monument of regional significance. The financing was provided by the presidential single subsidy. 30.9 million rubles were allocated for these purposes, IA AmurMedia writes.

The arboretum was laid out in October 1896. In 1997, it received the category of a natural monument of regional importance. The park area is more than 11 hectares. It features 386 plant species, including Amur grapes, lemongrass, and Manchurian walnut. It was in this arboretum that species such as the grave pine and the Ussuri pear were planted for the first time. There are more than 70 species of birds in the park.

Comprehensive landscaping work began in 2025. They covered about 10,000 square meters. m. Workers completely replaced the asphalt pavement on the footpaths, laid new curbs, and installed all-season toilets.

According to federal and regional legislation, a special protection regime must operate on the territory of a natural monument. Expositions of rare plants listed in the Red Book of Russia and the Khabarovsk Territory are under protection. Areas of indigenous cedar—deciduous forest of the Far Eastern type are under observation. Access to the park is free.

Earlier it was reported that residents of the Khabarovsk Territory are taking part in the large-scale environmental initiative "I choose clean air". The action is carried out within the framework of the federal project "Clean Air" of the national project "Ecology". The purpose of the campaign is to promote eco—friendly ways of transportation and improve air quality. Khabarovsk residents are switching to bicycles and scooters, choosing hiking instead of traveling by car. Special attention is paid to sports events.
