At least one country may join the European Union (EU) during Athens' presidency of the union in 2027. This opinion was expressed on April 23 by Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis.

"At the Delphic Economic Forum <...>, Gerapetritis predicted that at least one country could join the EU during Greece's EU presidency in the second half of 2027," Politico newspaper quoted him as saying.
