Pavel Vedernikov (Alexey Makarov), a fish farm technologist, becomes the main suspect, and the Nazi criminal Gunther Seiler, a former deputy head of the Grachi children's concentration camp, is hiding under this name, obsessed with finding a lost art collection. For Ratnikov, this case is becoming deeply personal. He assumes that it is Zeiler who may know about the fate of his daughter, who disappeared during the war. About 250 locations were involved in the filming, including the streets of St. Petersburg, Vyborg and Novaya Ladoga.
