A new film exploring "MIND GAMES" will be released on REN TV on April 26.

The world we see is just an illusion created by our brain. It is he who makes us believe in the non-existent, see phantoms and remember things that never happened. Who is really the boss in our head? The new documentary "MIND GAMES" from the NMG DOC series "SCIENCE ABOUT THE UNSCIENTIFIC" on REN TV is a large—scale investigation into the manipulations of the most complex system in the universe.

Where is the mind? Scientists still can't give a definite answer, but one thing is for sure: this system works according to its own rules, and we are only performers in it. In the new film, experts will analyze the mechanisms of perception and show how we are deceived by our own feelings.

Why don't we see reality? The famous gorilla experiment on the basketball court proved that when we focus on one task, we become blind to the obvious. This "blindness of inattention" explains why drivers don't see cyclists, and we haven't noticed changes right under our noses for years. Our brain doesn't capture the world — it completes it, filling in the blanks at its discretion.

Memory traps and the Mandela effect. Memory is not an archive, but a creative studio. Most Russians are ready to swear that Boris Yeltsin uttered the legendary "I'm tired, I'm leaving." But those words were never in his speech. The film explores the phenomenon of collective false memories and answers the question — who is reformatting our memory and why?
