The Russian State Agrarian University (RGAU) — the Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy has officially opened an Educational, Scientific and Production Center (UNPC) called the "TIMFOOD Gastronomic Cluster". The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, representatives of the agricultural sector, teachers and students.
To accommodate the center, a 2.4 thousand square meter building erected in 1985 was specially completely reconstructed and equipped. The facility, which will train new generation specialists, has been equipped with a variety of innovative equipment — advanced communication and production lines operate there.
"This center will become the heart of practical training, a real base of practice for students, where theory will be inextricably linked with the real production process. Here they will be able to implement their ideas, master the latest technologies and gain invaluable experience," said Professor Vladimir Trukhachev, Rector of the Timiryazev Academy, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), who attended the event on April 21.
The project was launched in cooperation with representatives of the Moscow Culinary Association. Partnership with this association will contribute to the constant updating of curricula and the process of training future specialists in accordance with the expectations of potential employers. Denis Perevoz, President of the Association, thanked the university administration for giving him and his colleagues the opportunity to participate in the development of the common cause and the whole of Russia with the help of the new gastrocluster.
In addition, famous chefs, bloggers and the head of the Timiryazevsky district Council, Andrei Predko, attended the opening. After the official part, all those gathered were waiting for a master class from chef Andrey Zhdanov "Hit dishes in Zhdanov style", as well as a lecture by culinary expert Vasily Emelianenko "Everything about knives: from choosing to sharpening".
A business festival with themed performances and master classes from food industry professionals was held in Moscow on April 20. Within its framework, 12 best gastronomic projects from seven regions of Russia competed with each other for the XX prize called the Palm Branch of the Restaurant Business. Thus, the Russian bistro "Ba", which is based in Tula, was recognized as the best project.
In addition, in November last year, the event "Vkusnasvyazi. Partnership 360". Denis Perevoz, who took part in it, then pointed out the importance of forming the so-called "gastronomic patriotism" among young people. In his opinion, the popularization of Russian cuisine and cultural values can contribute to this.
