In Russia, imports of used cars increased by almost 22% in the quarter
According to the results of the first quarter of 2026, 82.3 thousand used passenger cars (older than 3 years) were imported to Russia. This is 21.5% more than in January-March last year, when 67.8 thousand used cars were delivered to the country. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on April 22.
Used Toyota cars were most often imported to Russia in January-March of this year. During this period, 18.2 thousand cars of the brand were imported into the country, which is 17.5% more than a year earlier.
In second place is the Honda brand with a score of 16.9 thousand units (+36.2%). Volkswagen (8,6 thousand units), Suzuki (4,3 thousand units) and BMW (3,7 thousand units) rounded out the top five.
At the beginning of 2026, Japan became the main destination for the import of used cars, from where 47.5 thousand used cars were delivered to the Russian Federation. Next are China (19.4 thousand units), South Korea (6.1 thousand units), Belarus (3 thousand units) and Georgia (2.3 thousand units).
Earlier in the day, it was reported that by the end of the first quarter of 2026, the Haval Jolion crossover became the leader in popularity in the Russian secondary car market. The average price of the model was 1.68 million rubles. The second place was taken by the Geely Coolray crossover (average price 1.69 million rubles), followed by the Geely Monjaro (3.46 million rubles), Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max (2 million rubles) and Haval F7 (2.16 million rubles).
