Most of the officers of the 159th Separate Mechanized Brigade (OMBR) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) deserted after being sent to the positions of the militants of the first battalion. This was reported on April 22 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.
"Relatives of soldiers of the 1st battalion of the 159th Infantry Brigade complain on social networks that most of the junior officers of the brigade, having sent their personnel to positions in the Volchansk direction, deserted from command posts and were officially declared to have left the unit without permission," said a representative of the security forces in an interview with TASS.
