The expert recalled the indexation of military pensions from October 1.

The nearest indexation of pensions for military personnel will take place on October 1, 2026. This was announced on April 22 by Alexander Safonov, a professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

"The next scheduled indexation of pensions in 2026 is on October 1. It will affect military pensioners and recipients of payments through law enforcement agencies (the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian Guard, the Federal Penitentiary Service, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and others)," Safonov said in an interview with TASS.

He added that military pensions are planned to be increased by 4%, but the final amount may be increased if the actual inflation for the year is higher than projected. The expert continued that the size of the pension also depends on the length of service. For example, with 20 years of service, 50% of the salary is taken, 3% is added for each subsequent year, but no more than 85%.

Safonov also clarified that this year the military pension is 93%, it is calculated on the basis of a monetary allowance, to which a reduction coefficient is applied.

Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, said on April 19 that in Russia in 2027 it is planned to index insurance pensions in February and April. He stressed that on February 1, there is an indexation to the level of actual inflation, and on April 1, there is an increase depending on the capabilities of the Social Fund budget.
