Malaysian corporation Karex Bhd., one of the world's largest manufacturers of condoms for well-known brands such as Durex, One and Carex, is preparing for a significant price increase. This was announced on April 21 by the head of the Go company Mia Kiat in an interview with Bloomberg.

"We are in the process of agreeing prices with most of our customers, and this is certainly one of the most extensive price adjustments we have made in a very long time," said Kiat.

According to Bloomberg, the main reason for the price increase is a reduction in the supply of petroleum products to Malaysia due to the Middle East conflict, since most of the components for condoms are made from raw materials obtained from oil.

Despite the expected price increase, the head of Karex does not predict a drop in demand for its products. He explained this by saying that in difficult times, the need for condoms increases due to insecurity about their own future.

On April 5, the Politico newspaper reported a shortage of fuel at Italian airports. It was noted that as a result of disruptions in fuel supplies due to the war in the Middle East, shortages may affect other European airports.
