Russian President Vladimir Putin has designated Kazan as the venue for the Russia—Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in 2026. The relevant decree was published on April 21 on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The document notes that the event will take place in the capital of Tatarstan. The Russian Foreign Ministry has been instructed to ensure the organization and holding of the summit with the participation of the heads of ASEAN member states.
