The United States is investigating the circumstances of the disappearance and death of 11 specialists who had access to classified data. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

Congressmen's requests

Congressmen James Kemer and Eric Berlinson have sent official inquiries to the Department of Energy, the Pentagon, the FBI and NASA. Lawmakers are demanding to provide data on cases of disappearance and death of employees who worked with sensitive scientific information. According to members of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, such incidents may pose a threat to national security, RIA Novosti noted.

Lawmakers insist on holding a briefing and explaining protection measures for people with access to state secrets. According to Congressman Tim Burchett, the deaths of officials and scientists are not coincidences. He noted that the information available to agencies on the subject of UFOs could shock the public.

The White House's reaction

US President Donald Trump promised to personally investigate the causes of the incident. At a briefing on April 17, White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said the administration was working with the FBI to verify all the facts. The head of state expects that the links between the tragedies will turn out to be accidental, but recognizes the seriousness of the situation.

"Not a single stone will be left unattended in these efforts (during the investigation. — Ed.), and the White House will provide updates when they become available," Caroline Leavitt said.

During a speech in Arizona, Donald Trump also announced the imminent publication of classified documents on UFOs. He stressed that familiarization with this information "captures the minds" and provides answers to many questions about the phenomenon of unidentified flying objects.

List of dead and missing

Since 2022, at least 11 cases of deaths or disappearances of specialists in the field of nuclear physics and space have been recorded, Fox News reported. One of the key figures on this list was US Air Force General William McCasland, who headed the research laboratory and was considered the bearer of top-secret data. Nothing has been known about his whereabouts since February of this year.

Other victims include NASA employee Monica Jacinto Reza, contractor Steven Garcia, astrophysicist Carla Grillmaier and physicist from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Nuno Loureiro. The death of an employee of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Frank Maiwald, is also reported.

The investigation's special attention was drawn to the death of 34-year-old Amy Eskridge in 2022, who studied antigravity. Despite the fact that her death was ruled a suicide, the circumstances of the incident raised serious doubts in the White House. The former head of the FBI, Christopher Swecker, did not rule out that operations of unfriendly states could be behind a series of strange incidents.
