The reason for the suspension of train traffic on the Sokolniki — Park Kultury section of the Sokolnicheskaya line of the Moscow metro was a technical malfunction of the wheelset of one of the wagons. This was told by Yulia Temnikova, adviser to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow on transport and industry.

"A number of channels post false information that a train derailment has occurred. This is 100% fake," she stressed.

According to Temnikova, none of the passengers were injured — subway workers helped them off the train and go to the station. Now the metro staff is taking the necessary measures to restore traffic.

There are compensatory ground transport routes from Cherkizovskaya metro station to Komsomolskaya metro station — free KM buses run along them. Other metro lines and routes of Moscow tram diameters are also operating normally.

Earlier it was reported that train traffic was temporarily suspended on the Sokolnicheskaya line section of the Moscow Metro due to technical problems.

"Train traffic on the Sokolniki–Park Kultury section has been temporarily suspended on the Sokolnicheskaya Line. The reason is a technical malfunction of one of the trains on the section of the line. This train is being serviced by the manufacturer's company," the press service of the Moscow Department of Transport said in its Telegram channel.

The Main Directorate of the Moscow Interior Ministry added that no one was injured as a result of the train stop. According to the report, the metro staff helped them leave the stopped train and go to the station.
