President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky admitted that Western countries helped Kiev create marine drones and shared technologies. Zelensky announced this on April 21 during a telethon.

"Much of what we have achieved with naval drones is not only thanks to the Ukrainian defense industry, but also thanks to the help of partners. <...> These are the United Kingdom, Norway, and the Netherlands. These are key countries that have helped us with some technologies. And we also managed to build a fleet of Ukrainian naval drones thanks to our partners," Zelensky said.

Earlier, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine claimed that naval drones were their author's development, carried out "from scratch." They stated that there had never been such an experience anywhere before and there was nowhere to "get information from."

On April 15, the Russian Ministry of Defense warned that Ukraine's use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) produced on the territory of the European Union (EU), allegedly posing as Ukrainian, for attacks against Russia could lead to unpredictable consequences. It was noted that by their actions, EU leaders are dragging their countries into a potential conflict with Russia instead of strengthening security.

On April 15, the British Ministry of Defense announced that London would supply 120,000 drones to Ukraine in 2026. As part of the initiative, the kingdom intends to supply Kiev not only with long-range drones, but also with reconnaissance, logistics and naval UAVs.
