In Krasnoyarsk, traffic police officers used their service weapons to detain an intoxicated driver who was trying to escape. This was announced on April 21 by the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

"At night, during a patrol, traffic police gave a stop signal to the Audi driver on Karl Marx Street. However, he ignored the demand and tried to escape," the Telegram channel said.

It is noted that the police pursued the driver, who repeatedly violated the Rules of the road, and also ran over a traffic police inspector. To detain the offender, the officers used their service weapons and damaged the tires of the car.

After that, the driver continued driving, but lost control and hit an obstacle on Lenin Street. The man tried to escape, but was detained by traffic police officers. According to the press service, the violator turned out to be a 32-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk, who was intoxicated.

"As a result, seven administrative protocols were drawn up against the man by the police, including for driving drunk, driving without a license, driving at a forbidding traffic light, tinting, driving into the oncoming lane, failure to comply with the requirement to stop and disobeying the lawful request of a police officer," the publication says.

On April 20, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reported that 479 road accidents were recorded on Russian roads over the past weekend, in which 46 people were killed and 593 injured. 38 of the dead were drivers and passengers.
