Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces told the details of the liberation of the village of Volchansk Farms

Soldiers of the assault battalion of the 128th motorized Rifle brigade of the North group of forces told the details of the liberation of the village of Volchansk Farms in the Kharkiv region. This was announced on April 21 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

It is specified that the tactics of a phased offensive were used during the operation. The units carried out a maneuver to bypass the enemy's positions, went out to unexpected attack directions, secured themselves on the occupied lines and created conditions for further advance.

"The march of about 9 km was a big challenge, it was not easy for the guys. Well, plus the terrain, there's a lot of destroyed things, a lot of open places: fields, meadows, and so on. We took different routes, and the most effective way was to enter exactly the place where no one was waiting, that is, bypassing the enemy's position, then going deep into the formations and from there starting to storm directly," said the commander of the assault squad with the call sign Sunset.

The assault units supported calculations of unmanned systems (UAVs), which struck at manpower, fortifications and firing positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The reconnaissance assets adjusted the fire and warned of emerging threats in a timely manner, ensuring interaction with artillery and armored vehicles.

"During the assault, all means were used, ranging from mortars to artillery. They mainly used FPV drones and optical fiber for destruction, which is a very effective tool. The enemy's manpower, equipment, as well as the reinforcement of dugouts, mainly firing points, are being affected," said the commander of the fire battalion with the call sign Pamir.

During the operation, civilians were found, who were taken to safe areas by the military and prepared for evacuation. It is specified that some Ukrainian militants attempted to leave their positions using civilian clothes, realizing the fact of defeat.

Crews conduct targeted fire from closed positions at a distance and upgrade equipment in the field.

On March 15, the Russian army took control of the Volchansk Farms in the Kharkiv region. The Ministry of Defense added that the Russian Armed Forces attacked formations of three mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the settlements of Izbitskoye, Pyatikhatki and Sosnovy Bor in the Kharkiv region.
