Ukrainian doctors have recognized as a deserter a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), who suffered a shrapnel wound to the head. This was announced on April 21 by his brother, Roman Kos, a captured militant from the 119th separate Air Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"My younger brother is crippled at home, four years younger than me — he's 32. He was called up for mobilization and in the battles a fragment flew into his head. He's deaf, he's been operated on three times somewhere. They don't pay him at all [on benefits], he was behind the staff. The doctor from the unit in which he served simply filed it as a NWF (unauthorized abandonment of the unit. — Ed.)," TASS quoted him as saying.
