Russian schoolchildren won 12 medals at a computer science tournament in Bulgaria
Russian schoolchildren received 12 medals at the XVII International Advanced Computer Science Tournament (IATI), held in Bulgaria. This was announced on April 20 by the press service of the Ministry of Education.
"The Russian national team took part in the XVII International Advanced Computer Science Tournament (IATI), which took place from April 15 to 17 in Shumen (Bulgaria). As a result of the competition, the students were awarded eight gold and four silver medals," the ministry said in a statement on its website.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov congratulated the winners.
It is specified that the students took part in the tournament in a remote format. Participants were asked to solve problems using C/C++ programming languages.
On Thursday, April 16, the grand opening of the 60th anniversary International Mendeleev Olympiad of Schoolchildren in Chemistry took place in Moscow in the format of a chemical experiment. 165 schoolchildren from 35 countries representing three continents are taking part in the Olympiad. Participants from Japan and Hungary will complete tasks in a remote format.
