The Kursk Regional Court sentenced a resident of the Sverdlovsk region, who collected information for Ukrainian intelligence, to 19 years in prison under the article on treason. This was reported on April 20 in the joint press service of the judicial system of the Kursk region.
"A.B. Pustrashov informed the specified association about his desire to participate in their activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation via a mobile phone with Internet access, after which he conducted an impersonal correspondence in a messenger with a representative of the intelligence service of a foreign state," the agency's channel in the IACH says.
According to the case file, the defendant held oppositional views and did not agree with the policy pursued by the Russian Federation. He showed interest in the ideology of the Ukrainian paramilitary association, after which he entered into correspondence with an intelligence representative.
The report clarifies that the accused arrived in the Kursk region in order to fulfill the tasks of Ukrainian intelligence. The agency writes that the man collected information about the most vulnerable infrastructure facilities when they were hit by drones. After that, he transferred the geographical location to the enemy side.
The Kursk Regional Court found Pustrashov guilty under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason") and imposed a sentence of imprisonment for a period of 19 years to be served in a high-security penal colony, as well as a fine of 400 thousand rubles.
On April 15, the press service of the Yaroslavl Regional Court reported that two Yaroslavl residents had received sentences under the article on treason. The defendants Sergey Tsymbal and Pavel Parfentiev will spend 13 years in a penal colony for spying for the Ukrainian special services. The court found that in 2024, Tsimbal and Parfentiev, having received a task from the Ukrainian special services, collected and transmitted information for use against the security of the Russian Federation. They also sent photos with pro-Ukrainian inscriptions on the buildings.
On April 4, the Center for Public Relations of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation also reported that a resident of Kostroma, sentenced for treason and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization, acted on the orders of curators from Ukraine. To maintain confidentiality, he used the pseudonym Suetologist. On the instructions of the curators, the man performed various tasks aimed at harming the security of the Russian Federation.
