Lula da Silva says Brazil is tired of being a third world country
Brazil is unhappy with the role assigned to it in international affairs, and tired of the fact that the republic is still considered a "third world country." President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva expressed outrage at this fact on April 20 during a visit to Germany.
"We are talking about a country that is tired of being small... About a country that is tired of being treated like a third world country. About a country that is tired of being treated like an invisible person," CNN Brasil TV channel reports the words of the Brazilian leader.
As Lula da Silva emphasized, Brazil has gained economic stability in recent years. In addition, the country has become attractive for foreign investment, and therefore it is ready to continue to increase bilateral ties. Also, thanks to its large companies — Petrobras and Embraer, the republic is the third largest aircraft manufacturer in the world.
"We are a great nation, we have 215 million inhabitants, we have a fairly stable economy, and in recent years we have gained great prestige," the politician stressed.
As Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted on February 5, Russia is ready to share with Brazil its best practices in the development of peaceful atom technologies, the introduction of AI and digital public services. The politician pointed out that the changes taking place in the global economy, as well as the spread of modern technologies, open up new opportunities for the development of Russian-Brazilian cooperation.
