Powerful tremors may occur in northern Japan within a week after a 7.5 magnitude earthquake. This was reported on April 20 by the Okinawa Times newspaper, citing the meteorological agency.

"The Japan Meteorological Agency held a press conference and urged the public to be vigilant against earthquakes of similar magnitude over the next week or so. They also warned about the possibility of even stronger earthquakes," the publication says.
