The man who shot six people in Kiev and was eliminated during his arrest turned out to be a former military man. This was reported on April 18 by the Ukrainian edition "Страна.иа ".

According to preliminary information, the attacker's name was Dmitry Vasilchenkov. Earlier, he sued the pension fund of Ukraine over an additional payment to a military pension.

"Judging by the plot of the case, he was a former military man and received a Ukrainian military pension," the newspaper wrote on the Telegram channel.

On April 18, an unknown person opened fire on people in the Holosiivsky district of Kiev. As a result of the incident, six people were killed and 15 others were injured. The man took people hostage and shot at the police during the arrest. He was eliminated by special forces.

Later, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine qualified the shooting of people in the Holosiivsky district of Kiev as a terrorist act.
