The software must be installed only from official and verified sources so as not to infect the device with malicious software and lose your account. This was announced on April 19 by the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

"In order to prevent the installation of VPO on user devices and minimize the risks of loss of control over accounts of socially significant information resources, it is recommended to follow the following rules: download and install software exclusively from official and verified sources," the press center told TASS.

The Interior Ministry also advised using antiviruses and regularly updating them to the latest versions. In addition, multi-factor authentication mechanisms should be activated in all applications and information services that support this function.
