An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 was recorded in Nias in Indonesia. This was announced on April 18 by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

It is noted that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 37 km.

The tremors occurred 221 km northwest of the city of Padangsidempuan, which is home to more than 100,000 people.

There were no reports of casualties or damage as a result of the incident. The tsunami threat was not announced by experts.
