The US Navy has intercepted 23 vessels linked to Iran as part of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. This was announced on April 18 by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM).
"The coastal warship USS Canberra (LCS 30) is patrolling the Arabian Sea during the American blockade. Since the beginning of the blockade, 23 ships have followed the instructions of the American forces to turn around," the message on the social network X says.
The publication notes that American forces are providing a naval blockade of ships entering or exiting Iranian ports and coastal areas.
On April 16, the central command of the US Armed Forces reported that in the first 72 hours of the naval blockade of Iran, 14 ships changed course at the request of the American forces. CENTCOM also stated that American forces are focused, vigilant and highly motivated in carrying out the blockade of ships trying to enter or exit Iranian ports.
