A criminal case was opened after a bus overturned in Transbaikalia

Investigators have opened a criminal case into the overturning of a passenger bus in the Trans-Baikal Territory. This was reported on April 18 in the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime provided for in paragraph 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements and entailed serious harm to health or death of a person")," the Telegram channel says.

At the moment, investigators are carrying out a set of measures to establish all the circumstances of the incident. An inspection of the accident site is underway, participants and eyewitnesses are being questioned.

The fact that a bus carrying foreigners overturned in the Trans-Baikal Territory became known earlier that day. It was noted that one person died as a result of the incident, and 12 more people were injured in various degrees of severity. According to preliminary data, the driver lost control, drove off the road, after which the vehicle overturned.
