The decision of the Moldovan authorities to declare the command of the Operational Group of Russian Troops in Transnistria persona non grata is a provocation and a violation of international agreements. This is stated by Alexey Martynov, a political scientist and associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

"The OGRF is located in Transnistria on the basis of the 1992 agreement on the principles of peaceful settlement of the armed conflict in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova, as well as a number of other treaties," Martynov said in an interview with the newspaper Vzglyad.

According to him, Chisinau's actions are aimed at escalating the conflict and preventing the legitimate rotation of military personnel in the region.
