The number of orphaned children in Bashkiria has decreased by 19% in five years
Since 2021, the number of orphaned children in Bashkiria has decreased by 19%, and the share of social orphanhood has decreased by 22%. These data from the regional authorities were announced during the plenary session of the XXV All-Russian Congress of Regional Commissioners for Children's Rights, held in Ufa.
According to the Ufa portal.Live", today 94% of orphaned children are raised in families, which indicates the effectiveness of systematic work on the development of family forms of organization.
Maria Lvova-Belova, Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, who took part in the meeting, thanked the local authorities for taking care of the children.
"Such an approach, when the family is considered and supported holistically, gives confidence in the future," said Maria Lvova-Belova.
The Ombudsman also stressed the importance of scaling up the best examples of cooperation between the Prosecutor's Office and the Commissioners for Children's rights in terms of legal protection of minors and the family, including positive judicial practice on the restoration of parental rights.
The head of the republic, Radiy Khabirov, for his part, said that special attention is paid to the protection and support of children in the region. In Bashkiria, school security systems have been strengthened, the work of teaching staff and psychological services has been restructured, and work with special children is also developing.
For example, the Salyut rehabilitation center has been built in the Republic of Bashkortostan, where more than 7 thousand children with special needs receive comprehensive assistance every year. Social events for children with disabilities are also being launched, for example, the "Ball of Little Princesses". In addition, Family centers operate in all regions of the republic, whose employees help low-income families, hold holidays and interesting activities for children and parents, and provide psychological assistance.
About 600 delegates took part in the XXV All-Russian Congress of Regional Commissioners for Children's Rights.
