By the end of the century, the population of the European Union (EU) will decrease by 53 million people, that is, by 11.7%. This was announced on April 16 on the website of the European Statistical Service (Eurostat).

"According to the latest forecasts from Eurostat, the EU population is expected to shrink by 11.7% between 2025 and 2100. This means a projected reduction in the EU population by 53 million people by the beginning of the next century," the press release says.
