The brother of the head of the Ministry of Health of Dagestan was arrested in a fraud case

Kirill Glazov, an ex-deputy of the People's Assembly of Dagestan and the brother of Yaroslav Glazov, the head of the Ministry of Health of the Republic, was arrested in connection with fraud in the purchase of tests for COVID—19. This was reported on April 16 in the press service of the Kirovsky District Court of Makhachkala.

It is noted that from November 2021 to March 2022, Kirill Glazov organized a scheme of embezzlement of budget funds. Officials of the Ministry of Health of the Republic have signed contracts with a commercial organization for the supply of rapid tests to detect coronavirus infection at inflated prices. The damage amounted to 137 million rubles.

The ex-MP is charged under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by an organized group or on a particularly large scale or resulting in the deprivation of a citizen's right to housing").

"By a decree of the Kirovsky District Court of Makhachkala, the accused was detained for 2 months, that is, until June 13 inclusive," the TASS press service quoted him as saying.
