US President Donald Trump has extended the ban on Russian ships entering American ports for a year. The corresponding notification was published in the Federal Register of the United States on April 16.

The document claims that the policies and actions of the Russian government allegedly create an emergency situation by threatening to disrupt US relations with other countries. In this regard, it was decided to extend the aforementioned ban for one additional year.

The restrictions were introduced by the US administration in April 2022.

In March, Bloomberg reported that the US presidential administration was considering the possibility of temporarily suspending the Jones Act. According to the newspaper, the law prescribes that any cargo traveling between US ports should be delivered only on American-made ships, under the national flag and with a team consisting of citizens of the country.
