The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will not leave Lebanon after the cease-fire. This was announced on April 16 by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to members of the country's security cabinet.

According to the Ynet portal, there was no vote among the ministers on this topic.

On this day, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun rejected the initiative of the American leader Donald Trump to hold talks with the Israeli Prime Minister. Lebanese officials also notified Israel and the United States that they would not hold further talks until a cease-fire agreement was reached. At the same time, Trump said that Israel and Lebanon had agreed to a ten-day cease-fire after trilateral negotiations.
