On April 21, the opening ceremony of the VI International Festival of Proper Cinema will take place at the Poklonka cinema of the Victory Museum. The event is dedicated to the celebration of the 81st anniversary of the Victory. The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The opening film will be "I will become a Captain" directed by Daria Bednarskaya. The premiere screening will take place at the Zhukov Cinema, the film will be presented by the film's crew.
"The main character, twelve—year—old Vanya, is awarded a ticket to the Okean All-Russian Children's Center for saving people. Vanya decides to escape from there to find his father, and finds a new himself," the Victory Museum told about the plot of the film.
The program of the festival, which will last until April 28, includes 67 paintings of Russian and foreign production — these are full-length and short films, documentaries, feature films and animated films. These are works based on traditional values, ideas of humanism and charity.
The work will be evaluated by a jury headed by film director, screenwriter, producer and actor Vladimir Grammatikov. The international jury also included Ruslan Paushu (director, screenwriter), Dmitry Selyuk (chairman of the structural division of the Union of Cinematographers of Belarus (Brest), General Director of the Brest Block Cinema, Belarus), Ivan Bolotnikov (director, screenwriter, producer of feature and documentary films), Vladimir Nikolaev (general producer of the animation studio Voronezh"), Elena Yaremenko (Dean of the Faculty of Animation and Multimedia, Director of the Institute of Animation and Digital Technologies at VGIK, Professor of the Department of Animation and Computer Graphics), Alexey Zamyslov (production designer, screenwriter and director of the animation studio Voronezh), Ekaterina Golovnya (director, screenwriter of documentary films, member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, member Guild of Screenwriters of Cinema and Television), Yerlan Akchalov (Associate Professor of the Department of Directing Screen Arts at the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts. The audience will have creative meetings with the filmmakers — director Mikhail Bashkatov, producer, actor and singer Yuri Kuznetsov-Taiga, author and presenter Pavel Astakhov, and others. Also, as part of the film festival, the Victory Museum will host a screening in memory of film director Stanislav Govorukhin. Guests of the museum on Poklonnaya Gora are invited to meet with Olga Belyaeva, a student of the master, and Larisa Pretorius, a family friend.
