Experts estimated the cost of preparing the car for the warm season
With the arrival of the warm season, Russian car owners traditionally prepare cars for operation by updating key consumables. In 2026, the basic preparation of the car for spring will cost an average of 41 thousand rubles. This was reported to Izvestia on April 18 by experts from the Megamarket marketplace.
"Preparing a car for spring is primarily about basic maintenance and safety. Even a minimal set allows you to feel more confident on the road," said Dmitry Vasiliev, category manager of the Auto direction.
According to analysts, the main part of the expenses are summer tires: the average receipt for a set reaches 32.8 thousand rubles. The remaining expenses are for engine oil (about 5.4 thousand rubles), filters and technical fluids. Experts note that the cost structure remains stable: as in the winter season, tires form the bulk of the budget. At the same time, their cost has increased by about a quarter over the past year.
An analysis of demand shows that most buyers are focused on more affordable categories. Products below the average price account for about half of sales, while the middle segment accounts for about a quarter of the market. This indicates the desire of car owners to optimize costs while maintaining the required level of quality.
The cost of preparing a car varies markedly by region. The highest average check was recorded in Moscow — almost 45 thousand rubles. In other parts of the country, expenses are lower: in the Urals — about 39 thousand rubles, in the Northwest - 38 thousand rubles, and in the Volga region — about 34 thousand rubles. Experts attribute the regional differences to higher price sensitivity and the breadth of choice in individual regions, which makes it possible to find more profitable offers.
There is also a growing interest in comprehensive vehicle preparation: more and more drivers are purchasing tires along with other seasonal goods, which allows them to optimize time and costs.
On April 3, tire experts said that if you delay changing winter tires to summer tires, a motorist may face a number of adverse consequences, such as impaired handling and behavior of the car on the road, increased wear of winter tires and increased fuel consumption.
