- The IRGC announced the arrival of a Pakistani delegation to Iran with a message from the United States
The Pakistani delegation arrived in Iran to deliver a message from the United States to Tehran and negotiate a second round of negotiations to resolve the conflict. This was announced on April 15 by the press service of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
"The delegation is headed by Field Marshal Asim Munir, who is responsible for political and military cooperation with the United States," the military's Telegram channel says.
The plane with Munir on board was personally met at the airport by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bagai, Iran will receive a high-ranking political delegation and a representative of the security forces from Pakistan, while an indirect exchange of messages continues between Tehran and Washington, the Press TV channel said.
On the same day, Bagai noted at a briefing that Iran did not confirm the agreement with Washington on extending the ceasefire. Bagai added that in parallel with the diplomatic processes, the Iranian Armed Forces are monitoring events with full vigilance and are ready to respond to any provocations.
The Associated Press reported that peace mediators between the United States and Iran are close to resuming negotiations and extending the ceasefire, which expires on April 22. On the same day, US President Donald Trump said he did not consider it necessary to extend the truce with Iran, as the conflict would "end one way or another."
