Iran is grateful to Russia for its proposals on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program. This was announced on April 15 by the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Bagai.

"Russian officials have repeatedly stated that they are ready to provide any assistance to advance the diplomatic process regarding the Iranian nuclear issue. We have always appreciated this constructive view of Russia on the problem," he said at a briefing, a fragment published on the Telegram channel of the Mehr agency.

According to Bagai, Iran needs Russia's help in converting enriched uranium into natural uranium, as well as in placing Iranian nuclear materials on the territory of the Russian Federation. The diplomat recalled that the countries have always successfully cooperated in the nuclear field.

At the same time, the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry added that for decisions on the Iranian nuclear program, it is necessary to wait for the completion of negotiations with the United States.

"We should wait and really see what the future of negotiations will lead to and whether we can, in principle, reach an understanding with the American side on various components of the agreement. In this case, it will certainly be possible to talk about how its various parts, including the nuclear one, will be implemented," Bagai concluded.

Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia was ready to influence the solution of the problem of enriched uranium from Iran. He added that the resolution of the issue should satisfy the interests of Tehran. According to the diplomat, the Islamic Republic has an inalienable right to enrich uranium.

The day before, The New York Times reported that the Iranian authorities, during negotiations with U.S. representatives in Islamabad, proposed suspending uranium enrichment for up to five years. According to the newspaper, Tehran has already come up with a similar initiative during the February talks in Geneva. However, after that meeting, American President Donald Trump decided to launch a military operation against Iran.
