US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that China is pleased to open the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping. He announced this on April 15 in his Truth Social network.

"China is very pleased that I am permanently opening the Strait of Hormuz. I'm doing this for them and for the whole world. This situation will never happen again," Trump wrote.
