12 Russian tennis players entered the application for Roland Garros in singles
Twelve Russian tennis players are included in the application lists for the men's and women's singles tournaments of the French Open (Roland Garros). This was announced on the tournament's website on April 15.
Daniil Medvedev, Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev are announced in the men's singles. The women's team consists of Mirra Andreeva, Oksana Selekhmetyeva, Anastasia Zakharova, Ekaterina Alexandrova, Diana Schneider, Lyudmila Samsonova, Anna Kalinskaya, Anna Blinkova and Veronika Kudermetova.
The tournament will be held from May 24 to June 7. Roland Garros is one of the four Grand Slam tournaments, it is held on a dirt surface. Last year's winners were Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and American Coco Gauff.
Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev, ranked 15th in the world ranking, reached the second round of the Association of Tennis Professionals (WTA) Masters tournament in Monte Carlo. In the opening match on April 6, he beat Portuguese Nuna Borges (the 50th racket of the world). The meeting lasted 1 h. 34 min. and ended with a score 6:4, 1:6, 6:1.
