Japanese automaker Honda has initiated a recall campaign of 440,830 vehicles in the United States due to incorrect activation of airbags. This was reported on April 15 by the Reuters news agency, citing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The NHTSA clarified that due to a software error, the airbags in Odyssey minivans can fire spontaneously.

The software in all recalled vehicles will be updated free of charge by Honda dealers.

CBS News reported in November 2025 that Honda had announced the recall of more than 250,000 vehicles due to software failures that could cause drivers to lose control, increasing the risk of accidents. The recall affected Honda Accord hybrid models released in 2023-2025. Dealers reprogrammed the faulty software for free.
