AvtoVAZ has announced the launch of pre-orders for the SKM M7 van and minivan

AvtoVAZ has started accepting pre-orders for minivans and all-metal vans SKM M7 on the Lada website. The price list will be published later. Large-scale assembly of cars is underway at the VIS-Auto subsidiary, the first batch has already been assembled and will be sent to dealers in the near future, the company said in a statement received by Izvestia on April 15.

The SKM M7 minivans and vans are equipped with a 2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with 137 hp and a 5-speed manual transmission. The cars have a rear-wheel drive layout with a rear axle on springs. The all-metal body is equipped with five doors, with two sliding doors located on both sides. The minivan is designed to carry seven people, including the driver, and the van is designed for 715 kg of cargo. The cargo compartment of the van is 5 cubic meters.

The SKM vehicles have been adapted for use in Russian conditions. Both versions of the M7 are additionally equipped with engine and gas tank protection, footrests for the convenience of boarding and disembarking the driver and passengers, and in addition, the body panels are galvanized. The power unit of the car allows the use of gasoline with an octane rating of 92.

A single package for both versions of the M7 includes air conditioning, front airbags, stability control and anti-slip system, rear disc brakes, parking sensors, rear-view camera, light sensor, electric mirror adjustment, LED running lights, multi-steering wheel, exterior rearview mirrors with side turn indicators, heated front seats, heated mirrors, multimedia and digital instrument cluster, ERA-GLONASS, telematics system with three-year maintenance and voice prompts.

The minivan is equipped with three Isofix child restraint attachment points and an additional Latch seat attachment point (on the third row), as well as a system for locking the rear door locks from opening from the inside. The side doors open on both sides, and the third row seats can be dismantled to increase the loading space. The climate system includes two additional heating elements for accelerated heating of the cabin. The van has fixed rigging loops for securing cargo. At the first stage, the SKM M7 will be available in two body colors — white and dark blue. Later, metallic gray will appear in the color scheme of the model.

Lada to launch crossover, van and sports car on the market

Earlier, on March 17, it was reported that AvtoVAZ would allocate commercial vehicles to a separate line of business. The new structure will be called Lada Business. In addition to the SKM and other models, it features a snowmobile based on the Lada Niva SUV.
